When failure occurs within the unit, it is not uncommon that the same particles and sediments you find in the bottom of the pan are also in the solenoids. These issues date back to the earlier C-6 and E40D platforms with repeated spline failures and snap ring blow outs. In this SunCoast Category E4OD Transmission the factory forward drum is replaced with a new billet one. The E4OD billet forward drum is manufactured from 4140 heat treated stress relieved billet steel.
